New Requirements for Re-Entry to Japan of Foreign Nationals Who Possess Residence Status

Further to POEA Advisory No. 108, Series of 2020, the government of Japan has announced that from 01 November 2020, all foreign nationals with the status of residence with a valid re-entry permit are not required to obtain the “Letter of Confirmation of Submitting Required Documentation for Re-entry into Japan” or “Request for receipt of Re-entry”. when re-entering Japan from countries/regions (including the Philippines) designated as an area subject to denial of permission to enter Japan.

However, the certificate of negative test result of pre-entry testing conducted within i2 hours of the departure time of the flight (hereinafter  referred to as “certificate of negative test result”) is still required when re-entering Japan from the Philippines. Other restrictions imposed on the entry into Japan issued after this Advisory shall prevail
