CIDG ILOILO ARRESTS 3 PERSONS FOR ILLEGAL RECRUITMENT

 

The operation stemmed from the complaint of Christian Berola and Noren Jean Baes against Freda B Gahum of Barotac Viejo, Iloilo and Ruth C Rioveros of San Juan, Batangas.

Freda Gahum offered a job to the two complainants as factory workers in Poland on May 30, 2022. On May 31, 2022, Miss Baes deposited 50, 000.00 pesos to the account of Lynette S Perdiguera, (staff of Ruth) as placement fee. After a couple of weeks, the complainants found out that said Ruth Rioveros is not an employee of Sealion and Mercan Company.

The suspect demanded for the placement fee of Berola and this prompted the operatives to conduct an entrapment operation. On July 7, 2022, detectives of CIDG Iloilo City Field Unit (Lead) together with 602nd Coy RMFB-PRO6 and Iloilo City Police Office Station 5 conducted a police operation for illegal recruitment that resulted to the arrest of the abovenamed persons and recovered pieces of evidence from their possession and control as follows:

1. Recovered from RUTH RIOVEROS y Castillo,
a. One (1) pc of note book with written names of applicants
b. One (1) pc. black ballpen
c. Fifteen (15) pcs plastic envelop with folder inside containing several pieces of documents of applicants

2. Recovered from AIRAH SHAYNNE RUBIA y Pila
a. Nine Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (Php 9,500.00) boodle money and
b. One (1) piece Marked Money, Genuine Five Hundred Peso bill (Php 500.00)
3. Recovered from FREDA GAHUM y Basalatan,
a. One (1) unit purple, Realme Brand cellphone

All confiscated pieces of evidence were properly documented in the presence of Mr. Rotony Faderog Jr y Aplomina Security Manager of Park Inn Hotel, Mandurriao, Iloilo, City. The arrested persons were informed about the nature of their violation and apprised them their constitutional rights under Miranda Doctrine and will be brought to CIDG Iloilo ICFU for investigation pending for inquest procedure at Iloilo City Prosecutors Office, Iloilo City.

PMGEN ELISEO DC CRUZ stated that CIDG assures the victims that its investigation of this illegal act will continue. It calls on other victims of these illegal recruiters to come forward and lodge their complaints.
